STUBBORN HUSTLE

 

 The idea for this project was conceived in relation to the photographer's childhood background, having been brought up in a neighborhood full of notoriety popularly know as Ajegunle, in Lagos Nigeria. Majority of whom reside there belong to the lower class bracket of the society.

​The theme "STUBBORN HUSTLE" was picked to illustrate  the persistency of the never ending difficulties endured by people just to survive. I had relishing interactions with the people in the photographs who readily gave permission for the photos to be taken.

​ One noticeable fact is that amidst the harsh reality of life they face, adaptation has become a norm to them giving them the resilient spirit and will to fight another day.

 Unfortunately , children are not exempted from engaging in the tussle and bustle as all hands are expected to be on deck if anyone's to aim for a better living. Sometimes children get accustomed to these lifestyle that they tend to think that that is where their destiny lies.​

 Success stories of prominent societal figures who survive this phase of their lives, gives a breath of hope to the hustling mass but who's to rescue you when you live in a country where who you know determines how far you get.
