A Diary For The Boys

​It has always been a male strait to have a knack for pushing boundaries and breaking out of the norm, the attitude has carved a dogged behaviour out of them , influencing  their lifestyle and their response to certain issues. Having noticed this , I decided to document their daily life of the boys in my hostel , capturing their adaption skills irrespective of their different backgrounds and how they lived out the memories they wish to cherish in the future while still pursuing their academics and abiding by the rules and regulation of the university.

In the hostel, the situation is always dynamic due to the different personalities and their perception of life,  documenting the early risers, party goers, epidemic, games and fun,the remainders, the barbers, sport enthusiasts,music lovers and the geeks, many of whom struggled to gain admission only to realize that their preferred path in life does not require the certificate.

The documentation were from series of images taken in a span of three years(2021-2023). For this project, I focused on the King Jaja Boys Hostel of the University Of Lagos, Nigeria as my case study, because I was a resident there during university days and accessibility to the boys and documenting their lives was easier.
